These are just random thoughts from my 2020 notes, written shortly after the pandemic first made headlines.

Today, I was commuting to office ,just following my usual routine avoiding random videos on my phone. But my mind was preoccupied with something else: a grim prediction about the coronavirus, warning that 60% of the world’s population could be affected. Suddenly, a series of unsettling images flashed before my eyes Amazon wildfires, vanishing rainforests, NASA’s images of melting Antarctic ice, the relentless heat of the sun, rising temperatures, and swelling ocean levels. One question consumed my thoughts: Why is this happening?

Is Mother Earth punishing us? Perhaps she regrets entrusting this planet to the so-called “smart” species, humans who believe they are advancing the world through technology while conveniently sweeping the consequences under the rug.
