The book provides glimpses into Anne Frank’s life when she was hiding. It gives an intimate view of her thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experiences as a teenager facing extraordinary circumstances.Her ability to write down her thoughts made her different from others. Different from the other 6 million people whose identity was just wiped out like that sand around a seashore where waves come and take them along with in friction of seconds. Yes, 6 million, a huge count to put in the Holocaust of World War 2. Why? Just because they have taken birth in a Jewish family. Was it really a crime? Was it really fair to holocaust them on the basis of their religion or culture?
I am thankful to God that we were born in a better time and place, but there is still a big question in my mind. How long are we going to be shackled by religions and castes? Over the period of time, these chains seem rusted and loosened, and it is easier to make ourselves free from them. Yet how long are we going to take to free ourselves and live with these rusty chains? When the day will arise? When will we all, India and this whole world, become completely secular?
Anne Frank was a Jewish teenager who gained posthumous fame through the publication of her diary, “The Diary of a Young Girl”, which she wrote while hiding from the Nazis during World War II. Born Annelies Marie Frank on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany, Anne and her family fled to the Netherlands in 1933 to escape the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime.
